BEST HOMEMADE LEMON BREAD
A really delightful recipe! I added slightly more lemon zest since we love lemon in our house and tunred out great. The lemon flavor was nothing but perfect!!
INGREDIENTS :
Icing:
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1/4 cup sugar
Cake:
– 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup vegetable fat
– 1 cup of sugar
– 2 eggs
– lemon zest
– 1/2 cup milk
DIRECTIONS :
1. Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
2. In a bowl, mix the flour/ baking powder & salt. Reserve these dry ingredients.
3. Cream in another bowl the fat then add gradually the sugar and beat after each addition of sugar.
4. Add the eggs to the fat-sugar mixture, beating well.
5. Add the lemon zest and incorporate gradually the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
6. You should now pour it in a greased butter template .
7. Bake at 350 ° F until a toothpick inserted comes out dry, about 50 to 60 minutes .
8. combine at the same time the lemon juice and sugar and spread on the bread as soon as it comes out of the oven.
9. Cool it for about 10 minutes before unmolding on a mesh.
Let it cool and serving !!
